Editorial Policy

SEVA FUNDS publishes India-specific, plain-language explainers on tax, savings schemes, credit and everyday money. This page explains how we create, review, update and correct content—and how we keep our editorial independent.

Last updated:

Mission & Scope

Our goal is to make money topics understandable and actionable for Indian readers. We focus on:

  • Income Tax basics and sections (e.g., 80C/80CCD/10(13A)), filing steps, and common edge cases.
  • Savings/investment schemes (PPF, NPS, Post Office, FDs) with worked ₹ examples.
  • Credit cards, CIBIL fundamentals and responsible borrowing practices.
  • Government schemes and processes with India-first details and forms.

Sourcing Standards

We prioritise primary sources and official documents. Typical sources include:

  • Income Tax Department / CBDT circulars, Finance Act, India Code and Gazette notifications.
  • RBI master directions, press releases and FAQs.
  • SEBI regulations, exchange circulars and scheme documents.
  • Official portals (NSDL/Protean, CAMS, EPFO, India Post) and regulator FAQs.

Where third-party data is used, we cite the origin and date. We avoid unverifiable claims and sensational headlines.

Editorial Process & Fact-Checking

  • Drafting: Articles are written by our in-house team led by Prashant SN (M.Com).
  • Verification: Key facts (rates, limits, section numbers, dates) are checked against primary sources.
  • Examples: We include worked ₹ examples and clearly state assumptions and limits.
  • Review: A second pass checks clarity, neutrality and citation completeness before publishing.

Updates & Versioning

Finance rules change. We maintain content freshness by:

  • Adding an “Last updated” stamp near the top of the article.
  • Noting material changes under an Updates or Corrections section with the date and what changed.
  • Quietly fixing minor typos/formatting without a note.

Time to update: We aim to review significant regulatory changes within 48 hours of confirmation on regulator sites.

Corrections & Reader Feedback

If you spot an error, please report it via our Contact page with:

  • The page URL and the sentence/figure in question.
  • A suggested source (ideally an official circular/FAQ).

Response target: factual issues are reviewed and, if confirmed, corrected within 48 hours. See our Corrections Policy for details.

Bylines, Identity & Experience

  • Every article displays a byline, and many include an author box with a short bio and links to profiles.
  • Founder & Editor: Prashant SN — publishing Indian personal-finance explainers since 2023; SEVA FUNDS launched in July 2025.
  • Contact options are available on the About and Contact pages.

Independence, Ads & Affiliates

  • Editorial opinions are independent and not for sale.
  • If a page contains ads or affiliate links, we mark them clearly and keep recommendations neutral.
  • Partners do not preview or approve our editorial content.

AI-Assist Disclosure

  • We may use AI tools for brainstorming, outline drafting or copy-editing.
  • All final content is reviewed by a human editor for accuracy, clarity and sourcing before publication.
  • We do not publish autogenerated finance advice without human verification against primary sources.
